Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness

The Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness is a loose network of individuals, non-profit agencies, governemnt agencies, and community businesses working together to serve people experiencing homelessness. Our end goal is to help folks establish safe housing as quickly as possible and help them to retain that housing so their homeless episide is short and never repeated. We also work to address many of the factors that drive homelessness.

   Program: The Tacoma Housing Authority will update us waitlist changes and solicit feedback on implementation options around the voucher and properties programs. Feedback on criminal screening policies will also be solicited. Balance Our Tax Code will also present on some efforts to create a more progressive tax code in Washington State to better address poverty.

   Program: Beacon Health Options will provide a behavioral health administrative services overview of behavioral health crisis and non-crisis services in Pierce County and a bit beyond. We'll also hear from the Pierce County Veterans Bureau on their work supporting the veterans in our community.

   Program: We'll hear a presentation about the Clubhouse model and the need for a Clubhouse model facility in Pierce County. We will also hear about Tacoma Public Utility programs that support low income households.

   Program: Associated Ministries coordinates a Quarterly Meeting of people of faith and goodwill - pastors or their representatives are highly encouraged to attend. The goal is to create an energizing space to gather regularly to learn about, discuss and take action on the crisis of homelessness in our community.
