Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness

The Coalition logo The Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness is a network of individuals, non-profit organizations, government agencies, faith communities, and community businesses working together to end homelessness. We connect and mobilize people to take action to end homelessness.

Contact the Coalition at info@pchomeless.org with questions, comments, concerns, or to schedule a presentation. If you are in crisis, please call 988 or to report a crime contact 911.

For access to emergency shelter, use the Shelter Hub intake form or call (253) 444-4563. Find other resources, including safe parking options on the Overnight Shelter page.

Project Homeless Connect Flyer

Pierce County is serving as a pilot community to integrate both the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) and the 100-Day Challenge, inspiring bold and creative community action to end YYA homelessness. Use this one-pager to ask the County Council and County Executive to support the creation of tiny home villages in unincorporated Pierce County ahead of the Aug. 20, 2024 County Council meeting. UPDATE: The County Executive vetoed this bill minutes after it was passed by the County Council on a party line 4-3 vote on Aug. 20, 2024. Pierce County has released the results of the 2024 Point in Time Count, which was held on January 26. The numbers show a 23% increase in homelessness compared to the 2023 count, and an 11% increase in the number of people who were unsheltered during the 2024 count - 453 more people unsheltered than last year. You can dig into the PIT Count data on Pierce County's website, including the visually appealing infographic view and a deeper dive into the actual data.

The Coalition has presented a letter to the City of Tacoma asking the city to withdraw its support for the Grants Pass v. Johnson case that is set to go before the U.S. Supreme Court on April 22. You can read the letter here. We are also offering an opportunity for people to sign on to the letter to the city through this form. The News Tribune wrote an article about this on April 15 (City of Tacoma criticized for taking sides in Supreme Court case over public camping laws), in which the City stated that now the city is not taking a position on the issue to be addressed in the legal case.
